  • Start early and narrow down your choice of 8 to 12 institutions. Make a note of the requirements for applications, deadlines, etc. by visiting university websites.
  • Know the different bank loan choices and scholarships available for the applied intake, to help fund your education.
  • Download admissions booklets from the university websites to get started. Most brochures are released more than a year before.
  • Depending on the course and university, get ready for compulsory standardized examinations like the GMAT, GRE, Digital SAT, TOEFL, or IELTS.
  • Enroll in the GMAT or GRE three months before the exam date.
  • At least one month before the exam date, register for the TOEFL/IELTS.
  • Plan to take the necessary examinations, and allow extra time in case you need to repeat the exam.
  • Make a short list of the colleges and be ready to submit your application.
  • Consider carefully what makes you stand out among applicants, then develop a list of your qualities and an evaluation of yourself.
