b. For example, if you plan to major in Chemical Engineering, it may make sense to take subjects like AP Chemistry and AP Calculus.
c. You may also consider the AP recognition policies of any specific colleges/universities where you think you will apply.
d. What sets an AP Exam apart is that you could potentially earn university credit and/or advanced placement, which means you could skip an introductory-level university course or earn enough credits to start at a higher-level course for that subject.
e. However, many students find that preparation for an AP Exam helps them once they’re at university, even if they don’t earn credit or placement.

What are the fees for the AP Exams?

What AP scores are required by different colleges?

Different universities have different criteria for the AP requirements and offer varying credits depending on the subjects.

The following page on the College Board allows the students to search according to the subject and university to find out the AP scores required per subject and how many credits they can earn.

Students from which board in India should take AP?

The AP exams are strongly recommended for students who come from all state boards, CBSE and ICSE curriculum since the universities consider the AP courses more demanding.

Should students from IB Board take AP?

The IB and Cambridge International AS & A Level Curriculum are generally not recommended to take the AP exams because these curriculum are considered as rigorous if not more than AP.

But if the program or school you are applying to do not offer credits or benefits based on the curriculum then you should take the AP Exams. Seek more clarity from the university you are applying to.
