The British Council has announced scholarships for Indian postgraduate students interested in studying in the UK, in collaboration with the UK’s GREAT Britain Campaign and UK universities. The scholarship will cover a portion of the students’ tuition fees. Apart from that, 6 scholarships have been announced for the English Teachers.
Following the announcement of GREAT scholarships for Indian postgraduate students, the British Council has now announced 6 fully funded scholarships for Indian English teachers to pursue a postgraduate course in English language teaching at UK universities. This opportunity is open to English teachers working in or with government-run primary and secondary schools in India.
For the full time face-to-face MA TESOL program at the University of Leeds, 3 scholarships have been announced. The course will start in September 2022 and end in August 2023. While the rest 3 scholarships will be given for the University of Stirling’s part-time online MSc TESOL program. This includes a two-week residential visit to the University of Stirling that is fully funded.
The IELTS exam fees, tuition fees, stipend for living expenses while in the UK, flights and connecting travel to the UK, visa charges, and insurance will all be covered by the scholarships.
Applicants who have received a scholarship offer from a university can proceed with their scholarship application. Scholarship applications for the MA program at the University of Leeds must be submitted by May 1, 2022, and applications for the online MSc program at the University of Stirling must be submitted by June 17, 2022.
The British Council has collaborated with the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign and UK universities to offer 20 GREAT scholarships to Indian students. Students from 16 universities are eligible to apply for this scholarship in a variety of subjects like business, humanities, finance, design, marketing, and human resources, among others.
In addition to the aforementioned scholarships, Indian students will be given 7 GREAT scholarships for justice and law. The subjects for which they can apply includes criminal justice, human rights, commercial law, and others. The same will be applicable to one of the world’s top and oldest law schools.
The scholarship is worth GBP 10,000 and will be applicable to cover the costs of a one-year postgraduate course at a UK university. For the autumn session of 2022, students will be encouraged to enrol in postgraduate studies The ties between the two nations will be strengthened and provide a wider approach to the Universities of the UK.
Some of the participating universities are, Falmouth University, University of Edinburgh, Cranfield University, University of Southampton, University of Manchester, and many more.
Students must have finished undergraduate courses and be motivated and enthusiastic in the subject area in order to be eligible for the GREAT scholarships. They should also meet the university’s English language requirements and build personal and academic fulfilment in order to interact with the UK as a scholar.
