US Embassy and Consulates in India Dedicate Student Visa Week

As per the recent announcement, in honor of International Education Week, the U.S. Embassy New Delhi and U.S. Consulates in Hyderabad and Kolkata will dedicate the week of November (16th to 20th) as Student Visa Week.

Non-immigrant visa appointments will be scheduled exclusively for students on a first-come, first-served basis. This is advised that students should visit their official website in order to schedule the appointment.

The other U.S. Consulates in India will also hold similar events in the coming weeks.

Moreover, they will continue to process student visas throughout in the month of November and December in an effort to ensure the students will start the spring semester timely.

Earlier in the month of October, the U.S Embassy and consulate made an announcement that the validity of the payment for the US visa application fee (known as the MRV fee) will be extended until December 31, 2021.

The U.S. Mission to India understands that many visa applicants have paid the visa application processing fee and are still waiting to schedule a visa appointment.

The announcement came as a relief to US visa applicants that though having paid their US visa application fee, were still awaiting the scheduling of their visa appointment.
