Constant Student Interest in France Despite Covid Pandemic

According to speakers at a Class of 2020 virtual summit, keeping borders open and visa centers processing has helped France to continue pursuing its aim of attracting 500,000 international students by 2027 despite the Covid-19 crisis.

In the month of June, the country announced that students would be able to enter the country irrespective of their country of origin, and the visa and residence permits of the students were given priority.

The number of international students entering France dropped by 20%, however many of them continued studying online from home.

46% of international students in France come from Africa, while most destinations see students from Asia, more specifically India and China.

France recently grew its international student numbers by around 4.5% year on year.
