The Sustainable Design and Construction program prepares students for careers in the built environment: researching, designing, building, and managing sustainable buildings and infrastructure to maximize their lifecycle economic value as well as their net contribution to environmental and social functions and services. Our graduate program offers a Master of Science degree that features research and courses in: Management and finance for complex and large-scale projects. Collaborative interdisciplinary, multi-stakeholder planning and design processes. Lifecycle assessment of products and processes. Sustainable construction materials and practices. Green, performance-based architecture. Renewable power generation and smart electrical grids. Data-driven models for decision making on wicked problems in urban contexts.

This master’s degree program is open to two cohorts of applicants. External applicants who have completed a bachelor’s degree or will have completed one before matriculating as a graduate student.
