Three graduate programs are offered in architectural engineering through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and based in Omaha, Nebraska, 50 miles northeast of Lincoln, at the Peter Kiewit Institute of Information Science, Technology, and Engineering (PKI). The Master of Architectural Engineering (M.A.E.) is intended primarily for students who have graduated with a Bachelor of Science in architectural engineering from the University of Nebraska. The degree is a professional degree based on course work and design work with a graduate project. The program includes three areas: (1) lighting and electrical systems, (2) building energy systems and acoustics, and (3) structure.
