The University of Science and Technology of Missouri was founded in 1870. It is one of the first technological institutions in western Mississippi and has built on the heritage of discovery, creativity, and innovation to equip and inspire today's students to meet the major global challenges of the future. For a long time, the university has been at the top of the research and innovation game. It integrates education, research, and application in order to create and convey knowledge that serves the state and helps to solve the great challenges of the world. Students can choose from 18 undergraduate programs and 19 master and Ph.D. programs. It offers courses in 39 fields of study, such as computer science, business, engineering, humanities, and liberal arts.
