The Duquesne University of the Holy Spirit is a Catholic university established by members of the Congregation of the Spirit and sponsored by a collaboration of laity and religion. Duquesne University, one of the nation's top Catholic universities, was established 140 years ago as the only Spiritan higher education institution in the United States.

The University has nine schools offering baccalaureate, advanced, master's, and doctoral degree programs. Students receive a first-rate education, develop close relationships with professors, and engage in exciting research projects and internships. Students may be part of more than 250 recognized student organizations in Duquesne. These organizations serve the general interests of the student body and may include academic, social, recreation, service, or religious needs.

At Duquesne, 99 percent of newcomers receive a sort of financial assistance. Per year, they spend $79.5 million in their undergraduate students through university-based scholarships, and overall funding from all sources reaches $195 million.
