California Institute of Technology
Established in 1891 as Throop University in Pasadena, California, and renamed the California Institute of Technology in 1920, Caltech is a world-renowned science and engineering institute that brings together some of the world's brightest minds and most creative tools to solve fundamental scientific problems and pressing societal challenges. Caltech students can select from 28 major undergraduate options and 30 major graduate options spread across six academic divisions.
The Institute has one of the lowest student-to-faculty ratios in the country, with 300 faculty members providing a comprehensive curriculum and access to a range of learning and hands-on study opportunities for approximately 1,000 undergraduates and 1,250 graduate students.
