For more than 20 years, we have offered one of the best Master of Journalism (MJ) programs in the country. In our program, you will work with talented faculty whose professional reputations are unmatched in the country. The School of Journalism and Communication provides two points of entry into the MJ program ? Year One or Year Two. A collaborative specialization in African Studies is also available.Year Two Entry - The second point of entry is for students with prior journalistic experience or credentials who will be admitted directly into Year Two. They will normally pursue the Journalism Studies completion option, or a path of coursework selected in consultation with the Supervisor of Graduate Studies, which will include a thesis or master?s research project, as appropriate.

The scholarship policy aims at recognizing, attracting and providing incentives for excellence. If you have been admitted to Carleton with an average admission rate of 80% or better, at the time of admission, you will automatically be considered for a renewable entry scholarship. If it is not inconsistent with the terms of the award, your tuition fees will first be covered by scholarships administered by Carleton University.
