The School of Journalism offers master's degrees for students wishing to become working journalists in the United States or abroad our professional option as well as for those interested in studying the impact of the media on social, political, economic and cultural decisions and events around the world the journalism studies option.
The school's programs are designed for students who have a journalism background as well as those who have no previous journalism experience. Full-time students can complete the curriculum in as little as one year. Part-time students are welcome. The one-year master's degree in Journalism is an option to the two-year program and can save students time and money. Students must complete a minimum of 33 units to graduate. The curriculum consists of four required courses including a final project or internship, plus skills courses and electives.
50 percent of full-time undergraduates earn some kind of need-based financial assistance at the University of Arizona, and the total need-based scholarship or grant award is $11,716.
