The MLitt programme in Accounting creates a framework that complements and supports independent research in the field of accounting, whilst providing milestones through which the graduate student will advance, and structured educational inputs to support and develop the student. Students are required to complete a written thesis and viva voce examination together with at least 15 credits in subject specific modules and at least 15 credits in transferable skills.

The programme can be undertaken on a full or part time. The MLitt in Accounting is essential for a career in accounting research and academia. Maynooth University has academic and sports scholarships available for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Scholarship funding assists students with sports and university related expenditures (e.g. sporting equipment, travel costs associated with sport). Soccer scholarships, Rugby scholarships, Snooker scholarships, etc are the few types of sports scholarships that are awarded. The €1,000 Entrance Scholarship will be awarded automatically to incoming first year students.

Along with academic and sports scholarships, each year, the Head of the University Music Department awards one undergraduate music scholar. This scholarship is for current music students and is based on their year-end results. There are few other types of scholarships available for students to choose from and apply for the best scholarship for themselves.
