The MS in Computer Science provides a strong graduate-level foundation in Computer Science with five required core classes, and provides opportunity to explore diverse areas of application through the selection of elective courses. We offer a breadth of required classes in our MS Program, providing students with a foundation of key Computer Science topics that lead to success in the Computing Profession. Our program is built on project-based applied learning using current software tools and techniques. The program objectives of the M.S. in Computer Science program at California State University, Chico are to produce graduates who: Cognitive - have the necessary skills and knowledge to independently conduct in-depth investigative work, with replicative and verifiable results, in selected sub-areas of computing/technology, Performance/skills - are conducting successful careers or pursuing further postgraduate studies while adapting to emerging markets and technologies, and Values/affective - understand the ethical and technical context of their professional obligations and lifelong contributions to the development of local, national, and global economies.
