The MEngSc (Fire Safety Engineering) aims to deliver fire safety practitioners with a wide range of engineering and scientific backgrounds, the necessary skills and knowledge to develop a comprehensive Fire Safety Strategy for a wide range of applications in which fire safety considerations must be contemplated. The new plan will cover all requirements of a Fire Safety Engineering degree, introducing core concepts in the assessment and delivery of a fire safety strategy, together with emerging directions and innovative practices. Students will learn to locate, interpret, synthesise and apply information from a variety of sources. Graduates will demonstrate specialised knowledge in fire safety engineering across a broad range of areas including fire dynamics, fire protection systems, egress and fire safety legislation.

Entry requirements for The University of Queensland
Degree equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree in Engineering (in the relevant field of study for which they wish to enrol) with a GPA of at least 4.5 on a 7 point scale. IELTS: Overall Band Score of 6.5 AND a minimum score of 6 in each sub-band of Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening. TOEFL (Internet-Based-iBT): Overall score 87 with a Writing score of 21 and Reading, Speaking and Listening scores of 19. TOEFL (Paper-based): Overall score of 570 and a minimum score of 5.0 in the Test of Written English (TWE) and 54 in Listening and Reading.
