Sterling College traces its roots back to 2001 in Victoria, BC, where it had been referred to as Stewart school. For quite sixteen years the establishment targeted on providing ESL coaching for international and native students wish to strengthen their English skills. Late 2016 marked the start of a replacement era for the institution because the colege began a series of transformational amendments. This started with the change in possession of the institution creating it a locality of the Asia Pacific Education (APEDU) group.
Stewart College was the second institution to become a part of the organization following the acquisition of Canadian Tourism College in February 2016. More exciting changes occurred in 2017 which included the addition of a location in Vancouver, the introduction of the first career training program, and introduction of the College's new name, Sterling College

These programs have the advantage of offering dual awards from both Red Deer College and Sterling. Students can receive a diploma from Sterling College and an occupational diploma from Red Deer College upon completion of the Software Development or the Network Administration programs or they can take the Health Care Practice program to receive a postgraduate certificate from Sterling College and an occupational diploma from Red Deer College.
With two Sterling College campuses in British Columbia, students can be sure to find one that is convenient for them. The Vancouver location is situated in the heart of downtown, easily accessible by transit and close to beautiful Vancouver Convention Center on the waterfront. The Surrey campus is also close to transit and central to shopping and parks. Students will find sightseeing attractions, restaurants, and shops close to both of college's great locations.
By engaging in one or more student groups, participating in social gatherings, participating in sporting games or participating in campus programs, SC students are fully involved in their collegiate experience, active engagement in campus life helps students to make life-long friends, explore strengths, develop leadership skills and build meaningful memories while having fun. The Intramural Department at the College is dedicated to offering a comprehensive and competitive spectrum of athletic and social opportunities intended to satisfy the needs of the students, faculty and staff. Participants have the ability to select from a range of competitive sports and events.
100 percent of full-time students earn a Sterling College Scholarship on one of three separate routes: Sports, Arts and Academics. The athletic scholarships are are determined by Coaches based on the student’s athletic background, talent and potential as well as the student’s academic record. Likkewise arts scholarships are determined by Arts faculty based on the student’s arts background, talent and potential as well as the student’s academic record and academic scholarships are solely based on student's academic record.
