The Asset Pricing concentration is intended for Finance majors who are seeking careers in regulatory compliance, quantitative asset management, MS programs in investment management, or other graduate programs. The current demand for undergraduate finance students with a good grasp of basic econometrics applied to large financial databases whether financial institution call reports, security prices, or other financial data continues to grow. This concentration provides more quantitative rigor with a big data experience, a need articulated by many external stakeholders.
The Asset Pricing concentration includes electives in modeling for investments and financial data analysis, along with the other existing electives specified for this concentration (derivatives and fixed income), and a project-based capstone which will prepare students to meet this market need. While not required, students in this concentration are encouraged to minor in Business Analytics to further expand their skill set.
