The media plays an increasingly vital and influential role in our rapidly changing world. Almost every sphere of human activity social, cultural, political and economic is being reshaped by new forms of media. Take an in-depth look at what media is today and how it impacts our lives. You'll complete research in an area of media that interests you, under the direct supervision of our expert academic staff. Develop the research skills needed to plan and execute original projects and gain a deeper understanding of the media studies field.
At Victoria's School of English, Film, Theatre, and Media Studies you'll learn from and work with highly regarded academics with international reputations for teaching, research and publishing. You'll need to complete 120 points over one year, or if studying part time, over a maximum of four years. At Honours level your learning will be more self-directed. You'll have the opportunity to do a 30-point research project and this will include designing, undertaking and reporting on a research project under supervision. As an Honours student you'll be in smaller classes and will be able to build closer relationships with academic staff.
