To those who achieve a certain GPA and ACT score, some are automatically given. On a competitive basis, others are awarded. Students at CMU receive approximately $309 million in financial aid, more than $50 million of that in scholarships alone, about 85 percent of all students receive some kind of financial aid or scholarships.
