The university has more than 36,000 students from 85 counties worldwide, and an alumni network of more than 100,000. They offer students access to more than 350 partner networks globally and have 13 different campuses for international students. With courses in accounting, engineering, humanities, allied health, project management and research, there are 14 separate study areas. The university places 1000 foreign students on internships annually, with an emphasis on employability. Students may choose to enroll in a course that is 100% delivered online, thus juggling work and personal obligations. CQUniversity will work to enroll students online first and then move them to campus for students willing to learn on campus in Australia.

Scholarships are given out to recognize outstanding academic achievement and to have better opportunities so that students can meet their full potential and pursue their educational goals. CQUniversity awards nearly A$24 million in scholarships to foreign students each year.
