Introducing the computer-delivered IELTS

The Computer-delivered IELTS

IDP has introduced computer-delivered IELTS: the same IELTS test delivered via computer with results within 5-7 days. For almost 30 years, IELTS (The International English Language Testing System) has been a paper-based test, however, can now be taken on the computer. Every year the test has been taken by a large number of test takers to achieve their study abroad dreams.

With the introduction of computer-delivered IELTS test, more frequent dates will now be available to test takers and the band scores will be available within 5-7 days. The Computer-Based IELTS is currently available in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. The registration fee for computer-based IELTS test is INR 13,300.

Computer delivered IELTS test formats

Like pen and paper IELTS, the computer-based IELTS is also available in two formats – IELTS Academic and General Training. Get the detailed syllabus here.

How is computer delivered IELTS different?

In the computer-delivered IELTS test, test takers will take the Listening, Reading and Writing components using a desktop computer. All of the following aspects of the test are, however, identical to the paper-based IELTS test:

• Question types
• Content
• Timings
• Marking

No change in the Speaking Module

The speaking module will remain the same – face to face, one on one interview with a live examiner.

Here are the benefits of the Computer delivered IELTS Test.

• Handwriting doesn’t matter.
• Results available in 5-7 days.
• More frequent test dates available.
• No change in the Speaking module.

Please note that the Paper-pen tests will still be available, and the test takers can choose between the paper pen test and the computer-delivered test.
