How many versions of the GRE test are there?

The GRE has two versions: the GRE General Test and the GRE Subject Tests. The General Test assesses verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and analytical writing skills, while the Subject tests evaluate knowledge in specific fields such as Mathematics, Physics, and Psychology.

What is the GRE test pattern?

The GRE General test consists of three sections: Analytical Writing, Verbal Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning. What is a good GRE score?

A competitive GRE score is one that typically places you in the 75th percentile or higher for your desired program. For most graduate programs, this means achieving a score of 320 or more, with scores that exceed 330 being highly competitive. Ultimately, a “good” score depends on your targeted university and its program’s cut-offs.

What GRE score should I aim for while applying to universities abroad?

While most colleges abroad don’t have hard GRE score cutoffs, scoring within the 25th and 75th percentile range for your target college is advised. Colleges abroad take a holistic view of your entire application, giving you the freedom to apply wherever you want. However, a high GRE score that is above the median GRE score of your target college will improve your chances of admission.
