Eligibility for Applying for MBBS Program in Germany

 

  1. As an Indian student, you must have qualified your high school (class 12) examination with Biology.
  2. Although no specific cut-off is mentioned, there is a preference for scores of 60% and above in the science streams of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  3. You must be of 17 years.
  4. You must take either of the TOEFL and IELTS examinations.
  5. You will also need to take the Testdaf test.
  6. You will have to furnish a certificate of passing the German language training program (Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang, GDS, KDS etc.).
  7. At least B2 – C1 level knowledge in German is required.
  8. If you have taken a preparatory course in German, you need to furnish a B1 certificate.
  9. Prior to application, get your documents verified by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) to ascertain that your academic documents are duly accredited and to affirm that your qualifications satisfy the entry requirements for MBBS programs in Germany.

Important Documents for Applying to MBBS Programs in Germany

  1. Copy of valid passport with at least 18 months validity, attested by a gazetted officer.
  2. 10th and 12th passing certificate and transcript, attested by a gazetted officer.
  3. At least transcript of 1st year of your undergraduate program, attested by a gazetted officer.
  4. Identity proof – birth certificate

  6. Proof of language proficiency in both German and English

How to Apply for MBBS program in Germany?

Duration of Medical Programs in Germany

If you wish to pursue a MD in any of the medical domains in Germany, it may take you up to 8 years to finish the program. The MBBS program is usually 6 years long. As part of the curriculum, you will have both theoretical and practical training and must take one foreign language class. Usually, the course is divided in 12 semesters, each 6 months-long. The first 2 years of the program will focus on basic science and the remaining years will train you in clinical science. In the practical year, you will get 12 months of hands-on training along with first-aid training. You can even opt for 3 month and 4 months of experience in nursing and clinical medicine respectively, as part of your electives.
