Canada is making all possible efforts to ensure that the students pursuing higher education in Canada get the support to navigate their way through these uncertain times of COVID-19. The Canadian Government has decided to lift restrictions of 20-hour work limit on international students with immediate effect. Students working for essential industries will be allowed to work for more than 20 hours a week till August 31, 2020.
Due to the wide-spread global disruption caused by COVID-19, many workers in specific industries are facing huge pressure. Hence, this move aims to support and provide relief to essential industries including food, infrastructure, health care, etc. In order to meet the rising demand of workers in these sectors and keep them functional, the steps taken by the Canadian Government are commendable. It will benefit international students, especially those working in the health industry, meet their living expenses and pay their tuition fees.
