Good news! Several UK Visa Application Centres in India Reopening!

Government bodies worldwide have been dealing with this pandemic in an orderly and patient manner. As we enter the mid of this year, COVID-19-induced lockdown has been mostly lifted or if not, then it is a little relaxed now.

The UK Visas and Immigration have plans to resume its services in a phase-wise manner.

The following Visa Application Centres in India will be open from the 6th of July 2020.

  • Ahmedabad
  • Bengaluru (Global Tech Park)
  • Chandigarh
  • Chennai*
  • Cochin
  • Hyderabad
  • Jalandhar
  • Kolkata
  • Mumbai (South)
  • New Delhi
  • Pune

The remaining Visa Application Centres and Enrolment locations in other parts of the country will continue to remain closed for some time. For the convenience of the customers (who had previously booked appointments at these centres), detailed guidance will be provided to help them complete their applications at a different location over telecom.

Policies are relaxed to deal with cases where individuals could not attend an earlier appointment, and who completed their application on GOV.UK, but couldn’t book an appointment at the Visa Application Centre. In both these situations, customers can book a new appointment from today.

*Individuals wishing to visit the Chennai Visa Application Centre will need to wait for the local lockdown to be lifted.

Note: In line with the COVID-19 related safety measures, the customers visiting the Visa Application Centres must practise physical distancing, undergo temperature checks and wear facemasks, subject to local authority guidelines. In case, any customer exhibits COVID-19 symptoms, including fever (higher than 37.3 degrees Celsius), cough or difficulty breathing will be helped to reschedule their application submission for another day, post seeking medical attention at a healthcare facility and recovering completely.

VFS will not be able to offer the following services:

  • Super Priority Visa
  • Priority Visa Service (visit)
  • Priority Visa for settlement or migration Service
  • Walk-in services

It is strongly recommended that all customers purchase Courier Return of their documents, to avoid visiting the Visa Application Centre again after a decision is made. Fresh guidelines will be rolled out to facilitate this.
