The campus is home to nearly 800 registered student and community organizations. The university's athletic programs, 21 athletic teams competing as Georgia Bulldogs, are among the most competitive in NCAA Division I, and its English bulldog mascot, UGA, continues to rank as one of the nation's most recognizable mascots. GA central campus is in Athens, Georgia covers 762 acres and includes 465 buildings. To its north, the campus adjoins historic city centre Athens, which features many boutiques, restaurants, entertainment, and service businesses.

The university retains nearly 40,000 acres in 31 Georgia counties. UGA also offers extended degree programs in Griffin, Gwinnett, Tifton, and Buckhead. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years and comes with a variety of programs and resources to support student success.
