Master of Biotechnology

The Master of Biotechnology is a coursework graduate program which provides a pathway for biological science graduates to acquire knowledge, or extend and renew their knowledge, of biotechnological principles and applications. The program is designed to give students both theoretical and practical knowledge of modern biotechnology methodologies. The department is one of the few universities in Australia that offers a masters in Biotechnology research bases too which asks for completion of a research project. The Master of Education by research is normally awarded for a thesis or project based on original research that contributes to knowledge in the area investigated. Some key characteristics of the thesis or by-project mode include industry partnership, collaboration, research linked to action, positive change for the organization and individual, and action learning/action research approaches within a project framework. The degree promotes an explicit relationship between research, learning and change. Structure of the Programme

The School of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is part of the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW and is now one of the largest Schools of its kind in Australia. It offers full- time coursework- based and research-based degree programs in Computer science ad Information technology. The School of Design fosters a design culture through openness, flexibility and focus, at the dynamic centre of Sydney’s creative industries precinct. Through adjunct professors and collaborative research, DAB is connected to design, architecture and building institutions around the world. For their students, this has seen the creation of international exchanges and global recognition of their courses. The Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building is a short walk from Sydney’s Central train station and Railway Square bus stop, and enjoys all the facilities of China Town and Broadway.

The course structures at DAB allow students from one School to take elective subjects from courses offered in the other two Schools. Their courses also attract students from many different countries and from a broad range of backgrounds and disciplines.
