Types of Master’s Degrees Offered

Traditional Master’s/Grad Programmes

Types of MBA degrees

  • Generalised MBA Program

  • Specialised MBA Program
    A specialised MBA program caters to those who wish to solidify their knowledge and skills in a specific area. The duration of such a program is one year or less.
  • Combined MBA Program

Types of Undergraduate’s Degrees Offered

  • Bachelor’s degrees – These are standard degrees and the duration can vary from three to four years depending on the university and the major
  • Bachelor’s with Honours – It provides the highest level of training in an undergraduate degree. Honours actually means an extra year of study after completion of the bachelor’s degree in the same field

What is the main difference between Universities and Colleges in Canada?

Study permit holders may be allowed to work for up to 20 hours per week during regular academic sessions and full time during scheduled breaks.

How long does it take to get a Master degree in Canada?

Commonly, Master’s degrees in Canada last for a whole academic year including an obligatory internship added to the overall duration. Sometimes a Master’s degree can last for two academic years, depending on the curricula and the sensitivity of the program.

 

Are police clearance certificates required for a study permit application in Canada?

This step is not mandatory, although an applicant may need a criminal record check if he or she intends to come to Canada as a student. If required, he or she will have to obtain a police certificate from each country or territory where he or she has lived for six or more months consecutively since the age of 18. Police certificates are required to determine if applicants have a criminal record. They also help visa officers make sure applicants are not a security risk to Canada.
